Hi,

We've been running Zerina 0.9.5 for a while quite happily under IPCop 1.4.21 in our main office for our sales team (great software BTW, it's what IPCop's built-in VPN management should have been like from the start), but because of a problem we've been seeing with the IPCOP Net-to-Net VPNs we run, I thought I'd take the plunge and give the alpha of 0.9.7 (a14) a go.

After "fixing" the installer (I have a patch if anyone is the least bit interested, changes the version test to a "-ge"), it upgraded our main office installation OK, and then the fixed package installed on our two branch office IPCops without any complaints. I went on and set up an N2N according to the full documentation and everything looks great, "client" says open. But when I go back to the "server", ovpnmain.cgi only ever says closed in red, even though the OpenVPN logs show the initialization completing successfully at both ends. An IPTables problem, perhaps?

Any and all help gratefully accepted.

EDIT: Following a little more digging on the "server", it has both sides of the OpenVPN subnet up (nmap finds both .1 and .2) and the route is in there for the client GREEN. Further, the server itself can ping the remote end green interface, but the green network behind the server cannot.

A thought occurred to me when I was out for a walk at lunchtime and I've just tested it: the OpenVPNs are working just peachy for the firewalls involved, it's just traffic originating on the GREEN networks that's not getting to the other side(s). I can ping any machine on the main office GREEN from either of the two branch office IPCops, and the main office firewall can ping machines on the one branch office GREEN that has anything listening. Is that diagnostically helpful?

One final thing I thought was worthy of mention, the version of OpenVPN in 0.9.7a14 is 2.0.7. I'm going to try replacing it with 2.0.9 from 0.9.5b and see if that makes any difference.

short...
i am now working via a net-2-net tunnel Zerina 0.9.7a14 !![in a local net 500km away from "home"]
------------------------------
all otherversions before ZERINA 0.9.7a are not net-2-net usable for net-2-net.

- you have to go to setup-script
and i did make a comment at the error-return line :)
- simply to ignore the version test result ...
porblems (?) are sometimes if the remote IPs are not corresponding with the real remote ip....
- one way: do not use a IP, use better a dyndns-name...
- setup is nearly simple... examples you can find on http://www.openvpn.eu ...
Sorry for the short message... have to be ready to fly back home within a few minutes :)

- real status is given in the log-files... GUI is sommetimes a bit "lazy" ...
