I am trying to set up a VPN-Gateway for my laptop on my home-PC, but somehow its not working as it should.
I'm trying to tunnel traffic through a proxy server which censors internet (which is pathetic.. but thats not the topic) so I thought a VPN to tunnel through would be a good idea.
The Setup is like this:
Laptop is connected on WiFi-Network at the place with the proxy. Proxy IP is 192.168.22.1 with port 8080. The default gateway for that place (as far as the routing table says) is 192.168.0.1.
My Home-Network is configured to 10.66.77.x, the VPN network is configured to 10.8.0.x. Using TCP or else it won't work with proxy.
The VPN runs, and I can even get a remote desktop session going on to my server. BUT the internet traffic still doesn't get tunneled through the VPN and I don't understand why not.
I am pushing "redirect gateway def1" as well as "dhcp-option DNS 10.8.0.1" from server,
yet when I do a "route print" it says:
0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.0.1.... so the gateway is still set to 192.168.0.1 instead of my VPN-Server's address of 10.8.0.1...
I tried manually adding a new route for my VPN-Server and that works.. but traffic still doesnt go through it. (when I use some websites which tell you your ip, I always get shown the ip of the network where the proxy is in, instead of my home networks ip.
I can post my config if that helps....
Please I really need help to get this to work to get around this censorship... and to have a secure internet connection for my laptop when I'm not at home too obviously.
