Hello there,

I am trying to set up a VPN-Gateway for my laptop on my home-PC, but somehow its not working as it should.

I'm trying to tunnel traffic through a proxy server which censors internet (which is pathetic.. but thats not the topic) so I thought a VPN to tunnel through would be a good idea.

The Setup is like this:

Laptop is connected on WiFi-Network at the place with the proxy. Proxy IP is with port 8080. The default gateway for that place (as far as the routing table says) is

My Home-Network is configured to 10.66.77.x, the VPN network is configured to 10.8.0.x. Using TCP or else it won't work with proxy.

The VPN runs, and I can even get a remote desktop session going on to my server. BUT the internet traffic still doesn't get tunneled through the VPN and I don't understand why not.

I am pushing "redirect gateway def1" as well as "dhcp-option DNS" from server,
yet when I do a "route print" it says: so the gateway is still set to instead of my VPN-Server's address of

I tried manually adding a new route for my VPN-Server and that works.. but traffic still doesnt go through it. (when I use some websites which tell you your ip, I always get shown the ip of the network where the proxy is in, instead of my home networks ip.

I can post my config if that helps....

Please I really need help to get this to work to get around this censorship... and to have a secure internet connection for my laptop when I'm not at home too obviously.

Hope someone can help...

Ohh: Both Server and Client are running Windows 7
