I am running Windows 2008 Datacenter SP2 (EC2 Instance).

I am trying to connect to an open vpn service. The service is up and running, and I have clients from both vista and windows 2003 datacenter being able to connect.

When I tried to connect with windows 2008, I get an ip address for a few moments (long enough to ping the vpn server about 5-10 times and ping back the windows 2008 client for about the same time). Then all my pings time out to the windows machine, and pings from the windows machine say

PING: transmit failed, error code 1232.

I have disabled IPV6 for the TAP/Tun card. Also in the event log it says:

Your computer was not assigned an address from the network (by the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 00FF3211295F. The following error occurred:
The wait operation timed out.. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

I can find no help for this on the net. I setup a new Ec2 instance and tried again with the same result. It might work once, and then after a reboot, I cannot get it to work.

I am also running openvpn 2.1.1 and have also tried 2.1rc22.
