 Post subject: Windows 7 default gateway problem

Hello,

I've installed openvpn-2.1.1-install.exe to Windows 7.
Everything is working fine, but there is two strange things.

1. After the installatinon, if I connect to the VPN terminator the connection is working, but when I check "ipconfig /all " the default gateway line is empty, and at the local area interface the "old" default gateway still there.
2. Besides this at Local area connections tha OS says that the TAP interface is local connection.

Is it good, or not?
What shall I do?

This line is always empty. So there is nothing wrong with that.

I can't give an answer for your second question because I haven't tried Win7 so far.

Thank you for the answer. than I'm trying.
In windows XP that line is not empty....

Anybody else has any idea?

correct settings produces typical 2 lines...

the new on and the old one

0.0.0.0 128.0.0.0 10.11.12.82 10.11.12.81
0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.99.7 192.168.99.99

the first line will be added (and removed after close connection)
The packets will follow always the first routing information found!

might be... there are some options to set routing a few seconds later ..

Run the OpenVPN GUI as Administrator, and it'll be able to set the VPN as the default route.
